Today we worked on my sons social skill of turn-taking. We "fed" the piggy the little plastic inserts. I had his AAC device on hand to show him what the "path" would be for him to find the "your turn" and "my turn" buttons. I modeled for him "my turn" while pointing to myself and saying "mommy's turn" and then pointing to him and saying "(insert name's ..turn)" after I would click the "your turn" button. We did that back and forth until all the inserts were inside the piggy. The second time around I did hand-over-hand (I physically helped him click the button) with my child and when it was his turn, I had him click the "my turn" button and then saying "(insert name's..turn)" and then having him click the "your turn" button and saying "mommy's turn". Kids learn through play and sometimes it can be difficult when your little one has a hard time with turn taking and waiting. I intend on using the "your turn" /"my turn" button for this toy and other activities I do with my son.
