I was at the store looking for some supplies and I stumbled across these emotion cards to go over with my son. There are some pretty complex emotions in this lot (56 cards total), but here are the 5 emotions I am currently going over with him. The cards come with some activity suggestions and teacher tips to get you started. As for right now, we are going over the following emotions: mad, surprised, tired, sad, and happy. I plan on laminating these cards to make them a bit more durable. I like how the cards have the ready to go holes to put rings on them. The back of the cards have synonyms for each emotion card they represent. These are a little advanced for my son, so I will not be utilizing them at the moment. Because some autistic individuals take language literally, sayings such as "he was feeling blue" might be a little confusing for my 7 year old to describe someone feeling sad. It is not only important for my boy to know how to read others facial cues, but also distinguish when he is feeling a certain emotion especially in times of social/emotional distress, so he can tell us and we can assist.
***I am not sponsored by or affiliated with Edupress to promote these emotional cards or any of their products. These cards were bought with my own money.***
